Tax Collection

The first payment is due on or before January 31st, 2022, payable to the: Town of Watertown.

After that, (and the second payment if applicable, is due on or before July 31st, 2022
made payable to:

Jefferson County Treasurer and/or mailed to their address at

Tax Collection Dates

The Town Treasurer will be collecting taxes in person at the Town Hall located at N8302 High Road on the following dates and times:

Thur Dec 30, 2021     3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Fri, Dec 31, 2021         4:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Sat, Jan 29, 2022       8:00 am – 11:00 am
Mon, Jan 31, 2022      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm


A drop box is now located at the Town Hall to the left of the front door. Tax payments may be dropped off until January 31.

Taxes may be paid by mail, anytime.  (Postmark is accepted as the date of payment.)
Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope, if you want a receipt for your payment.

December and January Payments

Tax bills are sent to town property owners by December 20 each year.  Payments may be mailed to the Town Treasurer, or paid in person during the in-person collection hours listed in the tax letter.  Address information and the scheduled hours for the year are included in the mailing with the tax bill.

Postmark is accepted as the date of payment.  Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you require a receipt for your payment.

Dog licenses due by March 31 may also be paid when taxes are paid. See Dog Licenses (add a link) for appropriate fees and documents.

Payments made after January 31

Payments made after January 31 and 2nd installments MUST be sent to or paid in person at: Jefferson County Treasurer’s office.
